Voudouris – Konstas: The big step in meat tray products and meat preparations

This year, the Voudouris-Konstas meat company (Attica Meat) launched its participation in Food Expo, the largest food and beverage exhibition that takes place in our country, to introduce its new products to the wider Greek, but also the wider European market.

The company is expanding its activity by incorporating also meat tray products and meat preparations, besides bulk and packaged meats, thus making an important step in the production of wholesale fresh and frozen products, as well as retail, with distribution through the biggest supermarket chains, and the HORECA channel.

THESE PRODUCTS FEATURE:

Fresh meat tray products: Minced meat (beef and pork), beef cuts (chuck eye steak, sirloin, shank and chuck & blade), pork cuts (neck and shoulder steak, leg and schnitzel leg, bone-in steak and bone-in pancetta, stir-fry and skewers.

Fresh meat preparations (made by 100% fresh meat): Stuffed roll (chicken, pork, turkey), country sausage (beef, pork- leek, oak-smoked pork, and lamb), mixed burger, beef burger, kebab, Greek meatballs, meatballs, kontosouvli pork, kontosouvli chicken.

EXPORTS TO CYPRUS, ROMANIA AND BULGARIA, WHILE ALSO CONSIDERING OTHER EUROPEAN MARKETS

In addition to sales in the Greek market, Voudouris-Konstas SA is also exporting to Cyprus, Romania and Bulgaria, making exports an increasing percentage to its turnover. The company’s goal is to develop its export activity in additional European countries, bearing in mind the difference in mentality between the Greek consumer and the non Greek: the Greek consumer is domestically oriented and less familiar with the finished product, while on the contrary, other European consumers have made meat tray products and meat preparations a part of their daily cooking routine. However, consumers, generally throughout Europe, have evolved their selection criteria, looking for products that meet nutritional and taste specifications, as well as a quality-price ratio.

THE GREEK FOOD INDUSTRY IS ON A VERY GOOD PATH

The food industry is fundamental for all sectors of the economy, directly connecting the primary sector to the service sector, such as restaurants, hotels, and tourism in general, which is fundamentally crucial for our country’s economy. And we believe the development of the sector is on a very good track, utilizing research and innovation for better quality and more sustainable products, with a reduced environmental footprint. However, for further development, investment incentives should be given, and exporting orientation should be strengthened, both with private initiatives and with national and transnational actions.
